Greetings! We look forward to having you join us for The Leadership Challenge® Facilitator Training on Thursday, March 14 & Friday, March 15, 2024. We use a highly experiential learning model for our Facilitator Training, so you will learn by doing rather than being asked to memorize the Facilitator’s Guide!

We encourage you to begin working on your assignment as soon as possible. Here is the information you will need to prepare to have an optimal and engaged learning experience:

FACILITATOR KIT

The Leadership Challenge® Facilitator Guide USB will be sent to you by mail. Once you upload the USB drive documents, you'll see a folder for "TLCWContent" and in it you'll find a PDF called "TLCW-FG" which is the two-day workshop facilitator guide. You also will receive a printed copy in the mail of the "TLCW-FG" prior to the workshop to have as a reference.

Please complete an attendee acknowledgement here.

Your assignment

Each participant will deliver a 20-minute teach-back presentation of an assigned module, allowing us to cover a good portion of the two days of the workshop content. In our debriefs, we will focus on clarifying content, leveraging your skills to provide relevance for all participants, and bringing the material to life. You'll deliver this on Day 2 (Friday, November 17, 2023). Your assignment is listed in this link.

If you are also attending The Leadership Challenge® Workshop on November 2-3, 2023, we recommend preparing your assignment in advance of the workshop. This will enable you to enhance your section based on what you experienced during The Leadership Challenge® Workshop.

The Leadership Challenge® Facilitator’s Guide provides scripted talking points and detailed instructions. We will be looking for you to cover the content accurately and hit the key learning points in the activities in a way that is most comfortable for you.

When you prepare, keep in mind:

  • Accuracy and clarity of content
  • How you will engage and involve the group when appropriate
  • How you will make the segment relevant for your audience when you are out in the field
  • Making the segment your own

The Leadership Challenge® Workshop is a program that goes beyond teaching concepts. The intention is that through the LPI® and the experience and dialogue of the workshop, participants go through a process of discovery, awareness, and growth that will lead them to commit to specific behavior changes that will enhance their personal work satisfaction and leadership effectiveness. Your key resources are the Facilitator’s Guide and your own experiences and ideas. We invite you to adapt the materials to yourself, your organization, and your client base via stories and activities.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

Assignments: Please limit your piece to just the section and topics assigned. Don’t try to cover the entire module.

Timing: Use your judgment on how to guide us (your students) through the key points/stories/activities in the time allotted. You probably won’t be able to cover everything, so make some choices based on what seems most important and interesting to you.

Prep time: If you’re familiar with the content already, you may need only 1-2 hours. If this is your first exposure to the content and you’re attending the workshop beforehand, you may need to spend 4-6 hours in advance. Jot down any questions that come up and we’ll be able to address them on our Facilitator Training Welcome Webinar on Friday, October 27, 2023, 8:00 am - 9:00 am PT/11:00 am - 12:00 pm ET. (This webinar will be recorded.)

Materials Needed: The materials that pertain to your section can be downloaded below. During your teach-back, you'll share your screen in Zoom to show your slides.

Individual Assignment Details

**These activities either include some solo/small group time or refer to videos and participant pre-work. You won’t be using videos or taking the time to actually do the solo/small group reflection. Instead, you should plan to set up the video/activity and then debrief it like you had done it. Your fellow participants will be asked to respond during the debrief using their own experiences.
